RecordBuilder

Struct RecordBuilder

Source
pub struct RecordBuilder<'a> { /* private fields */ }
Expand description

Builds a record from its layout: every slot starts with its default, and generators replace what they need.

Implementations§

Source§

impl<'a> RecordBuilder<'a>

Source

pub fn push_group(&mut self) -> Result<&mut GroupBuilder<'a>>

Adds a group with every slot at its default.

§Returns

The new group, to set its values.

§Errors

Returns an error if the layout lacks one of the group’s always present child records.

Source

pub fn push_variant(&mut self, code: u32) -> Result<&mut GroupBuilder<'a>>

Adds a group of a variant array with every slot at the default of its type.

§Arguments
  • code - Type code of the group.
§Returns

The new group, to set its values.

§Errors

Returns an error if the layout has no such type, or lacks one of the group’s always present child records.

Source

pub fn push_children(&mut self, children: Vec<NodeType>)

Adds a group with the given children, as they are. For array items whose shape varies too much for slots, like trade splines with their segments.

Source

pub fn group(&mut self) -> Result<&mut GroupBuilder<'a>>

Returns the first group, where normal (non array) records keep their children.

§Errors

Returns an error if the record has no groups (an array without items).

Source

pub fn build(self) -> Result<RecordNode>

Builds the record.

§Errors

This doesn’t fail at the moment; it returns a Result so validation can be added without changing callers.
